Ancol-JIS Gate Embodies Ancol's Commitment to Supporting Jakarta's Development
The presence of the Ancol-Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Gate is a tangible manifestation of Ancol’s commitment to supporting the development of an increasingly integrated and community-oriented Jakarta, according to PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk President Director Syahmudrian Lubis. “The presence of the Ancol-JIS Gate is an answer to the need for area integration that has long been part of the vision for North Jakarta’s development,” he said in Jakarta on Monday. Ancol is not only a tourist destination but is also transforming into part of the city’s ecosystem, connecting recreational, sports, cultural, and community mobility activities. With Ancol now connected via a pedestrian bridge (JPO) and JIS KRL Station in a seamless corridor, Lubis expressed optimism that this facility will provide easy access for the public. “This will optimise the use of public transportation and create new potential for economic and tourism movement in the North Jakarta area,” he said. This integrated infrastructure is expected to provide various tangible benefits, including serving as a solution for mobility and parking management during large-scale events at JIS, improving public ease in enjoying recreational facilities at Ancol, and strengthening North Jakarta’s position as an interconnected centre for sports, tourism, education, and entertainment activities. Lubis noted that this momentum is also part of a collective effort to welcome Jakarta’s 500th anniversary as a global city with an increasingly integrated transportation system, public spaces, and destinations. Going forward, Ancol will continue to strengthen collaboration with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government and various strategic partners to deliver area innovations that provide added value for the community. “As well as improving the quality of visitor experience and strengthening Jakarta’s competitiveness as a world-class city destination,” he said. PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol Tbk officially operated the Ancol–JIS Gate, a new access point directly connecting the Ancol recreational area with Jakarta International Stadium. The inauguration was part of the ‘Jakarta Terhubung’ programme series during the 499th anniversary celebration of Jakarta City, conducted by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung Wibowo, together with the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia, Dudy Purwagandhi. Lubis assessed that the presence of the Ancol-JIS Gate is a strategic step towards realising connectivity in the North Jakarta area through the integration of public transportation, sports facilities, open public spaces, and recreational destinations. This new access is directly connected to the BTN Bersama pedestrian bridge, a Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programme of Bank BTN, JIS KRL Station, and the Ancol recreational area. With this integration, he added, the public now has an easier, safer, more comfortable, and environmentally friendly travel alternative to access both the JIS and Ancol areas using public transportation, particularly the KRL, thereby reducing dependence on private vehicles. “This also helps reduce traffic congestion and the need for parking space during large-scale events at JIS,” Lubis said.
