Anawin buys JIHD shares

JAKARTA (JP): Anawin Holdings BV of the Netherlands, owned by a consortium of investors led by Lazard Asia Investment BV, has acquired a 10 percent stake in PT Jakarta International Hotels & Development (JIHD).

The company said in a statement yesterday that the initial stake totals 38.6 million shares representing an investment of approximately Rp 122.6 billion (US$52.6 million).

"In the near future Anawin will acquire additional JIHD shares," the statement said.

JIHD is in the process of acquiring an indirect stake in PT Satelit Palapa Indonesia (Satelindo), a private Indonesian telecommunication company engaged in three principal businesses, GSM digital cellular operations, providing international direct dialing telephone services and leasing commercial satellite transponders.

Lazard Asia Investment BV is an investment company with major partners such as Temasek Holdings, Exor S.A. and the Lazard Group. (13)
