JAKARTA (JP): Young Indonesian driver Ananda Mikola fulfilled his ambition by winning the third leg of the Formula 3000 at the Enna circuit, Pergusa, Italy, on Sunday.

Ananda, driving under the banner of Edenbridge Racing, reached 189.060 kilometers per hour and finished in 39 minutes 16.389 seconds. He collected the maximum 10 points.

Giorgio Vinella of the Martello team was 5.976 seconds behind Ananda. Mark Shaw was 11.692 seconds behind in third.

"I can't believe how easy it was to win. With this victory, I am confident for the future," said Ananda in a fax made available to The Jakarta Post.

Team manager Piers Hunnisett said: "Unbelievable, Ananda drove a perfect race, driving just as fast as he needed to win and was in a class of his own all weekend."

Ananda made a good start to lead Marco Battisuzzi into the first corner and he was 1.6 seconds clear after the first lap. Ananda steadily increased his lead by driving consistently.(yan)
