Ananda shocked over Melandrie's death

JAKARTA (JP): Ananda Mikola, Indonesia's rising Formula III racing star, was shocked by the death of his teammate Alfredo Melandrie of Italy who died Monday at the Faenza hospital in Italy.

Melandrie, a member of the R.C. Motorsport club, died after suffering head injuries in a car crash during practice on March 2 at the Mugello circuit in Italy. He was expected to compete in the first leg of the Formula III race, together with Ananda, at the circuit on March 29.

"I am saddened by Melandrie's death. I will try to forget the tragedy and hopefully realize Melandrie's wish to give the best for the R.C. Motorsport club," Ananda said from Italy, a release from the Marloboro Humpuss team stated. (lnt)
