Analysts Say KPK Could Expand Investigation into Customs Case

New facts have emerged during the trial regarding alleged bribery and gratification within the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC). In addition to Blue Ray Cargo, another company named PT Infinity International has been implicated in making regular payments to certain customs officials.

These findings have led various parties to question the direction of the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) investigation, which has thus far remained focused on the Blue Ray case. Counter-intelligence analyst R. Gautama Wiranegara noted that the facts presented in court indicate a much broader scope of the case than previously disclosed to the public.

“The trial has shown that Blue Ray is not the only provider. There is PT Infinity providing regular payments, and there are cigarette entrepreneurs. Why is the KPK still focusing on only one aspect? The map is becoming clear; do not let it remain obscured,” Gautama stated in a release on Sunday, 7 June 2026.

These facts were revealed through the testimony of Antonius Sidauruk, a former employee of PT Infinity International, owned by Ali Susanto, also known as Ali Medan. Before the panel of judges, Antonius admitted that monthly funds flowed from PT Infinity to the then-Head of Intelligence at DJBC, Orlando Hamonangan. According to Antonius, the money was channelled through several intermediaries, namely Arif, Rudi, and Susi. He further claimed he was directly recommended by Orlando to work at PT Infinity starting in 2021.

Additionally, Antonius revealed that in March 2025, he was asked to rent an apartment in his own name, which was intended for Orlando’s use after his assignment at the DJBC head office in Jakarta. Another point of scrutiny involves goods clearance data. Based on intelligence tables presented by witness Fillar Marindra, the average ‘red lane’ (high-scrutiny) rate for PT Infinity was reportedly below 30 per cent. This stands in stark contrast to Blue Ray, which was revealed in several trials to have a red lane rate of 80 to 90 per cent. Antonius stated that while handling import clearance processes at PT Infinity, the company’s activities proceeded relatively smoothly without significant obstacles, raising questions regarding the correlation between illicit payments and the customs treatment received by each company.
