Analyst: Indonesia Strengthens Global Diplomacy through KAA Legacy
Indonesia continues to strengthen its commitment to utilising the legacy of the Asian-African Conference (KAA) as a foundation for diplomacy to promote solidarity among Global South countries, including in voicing issues of development inequality and global debt, according to an observer.
“Although the utilisation of the KAA legacy has not been fully consistent, Indonesia frequently raises major issues such as debt and development inequality within the framework of solidarity,” said International Relations Observer Andrea Abdul Rahman Azzqy when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday.
Andrea also highlighted the dynamics of energy transition cooperation involving developing countries, which are currently still heavily influenced by developed nations.
This situation, according to him, opens opportunities for developing countries, including Indonesia, to continue strengthening their capacity so as not only to follow existing frameworks but also to play a more active role in shaping global rules and policies.
“Indonesia’s current position is more prominent as a bridge,” he stated.
He explained that under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, strengthening diplomatic consistency is one of the important factors in enhancing Indonesia’s credibility and role on a broader global level.
