Analyst: Bappenas-Airbus Collaboration Can Enhance Aviation Human Resources
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Public policy analyst from Trisakti University, Trubus Rahadiansyah, assesses that the collaboration between the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Kementerian PPN/Bappenas) and Airbus can enhance human resources or HR in the aviation industry. “It can (enhance) as long as there is strict supervision, because enhancing HR is not just about professional skills but also about increasing investor appeal,” Trubus said when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday. He continued that Indonesia can become competitive, thus at least becoming a reliance for aircraft industries that need HR from Indonesia, especially technicians and also pilots. “At least becoming a reliance for aircraft industries that need our HR, especially technicians, and from the pilot side,” he said. For information, the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas (PPN/Bappenas) Rachmat Pambudy revealed that the Joint Declaration of Intent or JDI between Bappenas and aircraft manufacturer Airbus strengthens the development of Indonesia’s aerospace industry ecosystem. According to him, Kementerian PPN/Bappenas has prepared a roadmap for the aerospace industry and for that, Bappenas continues to commit to guiding the development of the aerospace industry ecosystem. As a follow-up to the Joint Declaration of Intent signed today, said Rachmat, Airbus will collaborate with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). This collaboration will be continuously integrated with Airbus and continuously supported by ministries/agencies, SOEs, Indonesian universities, and the private sector as the centre of aerospace growth in the Asia-Pacific region. Rachmat hopes that PTDI can become a tier-1 supplier for Airbus, meaning PTDI can start making complete wings for Airbus aircraft or even aircraft that will later build a factory in Kertajati. “For that, improvements in standardisation, service quality, operational efficiency, utilisation of technology, and no less important, strengthening human resources are needed. And this is continuously encouraged so that the growth of the aerospace industry grows sustainably,” said Rachmat.
