Aviation polytechnics need modernisation, and Airbus could become part of the professional MRO certification process as well as aviation in general.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Transportation expert Danang Parikesit from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) stated that Airbus could become part of the professional maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) certification process.

“Aviation polytechnics need to be modernised, and Airbus could become part of the professional MRO certification process as well as aviation in general,” said Danang when contacted by ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.

He added that the InJourney group already has the IAS Academy, which could serve as a strategic partner for Airbus in enhancing human resources in the aviation sector.

“The InJourney group already has the IAS Academy, which could be a strategic partner for Airbus in aviation education,” he said.

For information, Minister for National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy, together with Airbus Asia-Pacific President Anand Stanley, signed a Joint Declaration of Intent (JDI) as a commitment to strengthening the national aerospace industry.

This agreement aligns with the Roadmap for the Development of the Indonesian Aerospace Industry Ecosystem for 2022-2045. Both parties will explore cooperation opportunities that include strengthening domestic industry capacity as well as developing the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector for various Airbus product lines.

This partnership is expected to improve inter-island connectivity through the development of airport infrastructure and flight services.

By 2045, air traffic growth is projected to grow more efficiently and sustainably up to four times.

This cooperation will be followed up with efforts to accelerate the enhancement of human resource capabilities, utilisation of technology, as well as improvement of standardisation that meets the needs and dynamics of the aerospace industry in Indonesia.

This collaboration also supports the direction of national long-term development, and becomes a concrete and strategic step in realising development towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
