An-Nadzir Congregation in Gowa Holds Eid al-Adha Prayer Today
Hundreds of An-Nadzir congregants in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi, have completed the Eid al-Adha prayer for 1447 Hijriyah after determining that the 10th of Zulhijjah falls today. An-Nadzir’s Eid al-Adha prayer was conducted a day earlier than the government’s scheduled date of Wednesday, 27 May. ‘The start of Zulhijjah was determined using the hisab and rukyat methods, which are the congregation’s guidelines,’ said An-Nadzir leader Ustad M. Samiruddin Pademmui on Tuesday, 26 May. Based on monitoring, the An-Nadzir team stated that the month transition from Zulqaidah to Zulhijjah occurred on Sunday, 17 May 2026, at approximately 4:03 AM WITA. At that time, the sun was observed to rise before the moon, which, according to An-Nadzir’s methodology, signifies the start of the new month. ‘Since the month transition from Zulqaidah to Zulhijjah occurred on Sunday, 17 May 2026, the first day of Zulhijjah 1447 AH began on that date,’ he explained. After the Eid al-Adha prayer, all congregants slaughtered livestock such as cattle and goats, distributing the meat to local residents.
