An insane anti-climax

An insane anti-climax

After the police declared that one of the three suspects in
the Oct. 12 Bali bomb blast had been identified, they arrested a
man, whose face resembled one of three faces -- based on the
artist's image.

The bright-skinned man with long hair was 'found' by the
police at the Bejawa bus terminal in Flores, West Nusa Tenggara.

The man just said yes when the police officers approaching him
asked if he was one of the Bali bombers. Then he was transported
(by plane) to Bali escorted by two armed officers.

Questioning "the suspect" the police officers learned that the
man was insane. "The answers (to police questions) were confusing
and did not match to the questions. His statements strongly
indicated that he is insane. His face looked very similar to one
of the three sketches," Insp. Gen. Made Mangku Pastika, chief of
the police investigation team, said.

What happened was an anti-climax. The police arrested the
wrong suspect. Arresting the wrong suspect and then released them
is a normal thing in an investigation process. But healthy
officers arresting an insane man and escorting him on a plane was
crazy.

Weren't the officers aware that the man had shown his insanity
from the beginning. The man said yes when the police asked him if
he was one of the Bali bombers.

Isn't it very easy to identify insane people (in such a public
place)?
