Amsal Sitepu Thanks Prabowo After Acquittal Verdict

Amsal Christy Sitepu has been acquitted in the alleged corruption case concerning the production of village profile videos in Karo Regency, North Sumatra. Amsal expressed thanks to President Prabowo Subianto.

“At this moment, I declare that there will be no more Amsals criminalised, and no more creative economy fighters criminalised in this Indonesia,” Amsal said, crying with emotion after the verdict hearing at Cakra 1 of the Medan District Court, as reported by detikSumut on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Amsal also expressed gratitude to God. In addition, he thanked President Prabowo Subianto for paying attention to his case. Amsal also thanked other parties who had assisted him.

“I also want to thank Mr President Prabowo Subianto who has given special attention to us, all creative economy actors in Indonesia. I want to thank the panel of judges who have decided this case as fairly as possible. I believe this momentum is the momentum for the revival of the creative economy in Indonesia. These tears that are born are tears of victory, but not victory for Amsal Sitepu alone, but this is a victory for all creative economy fighters in Indonesia. We are all free to create in our country,” he stated.

It is known that Amsal was acquitted in the alleged corruption case for producing village profile videos in Karo Regency. Amsal was declared not guilty in the case.

“Stating that the Defendant Amsal Sitepu above has not been legally proven to have committed the criminal act as charged in the primary and subsidiary indictments. Therefore, acquitting the Defendant from all public prosecutor’s charges,” said the panel of judges, M Yusafrihardi Girsang, when reading the verdict at the Medan District Court.
