AMRO Bank responds

In response to the letter published in The Jakarta Post on March 14, 2001, regarding the credit process of ABN AMRO Bank's Dana Cepat Multiguna consumer loan product, we would like to clarify the matter as follows.

It is our standard procedure that the credit approval process of our consumer loan products is closely and carefully scrutinized based on the information given in all incoming credit applications. Based on the terms and conditions that are clearly stated in the application form which is signed by each applicant, the Bank reserves the right to reject any credit applications without having to provide any reason and has the right to retain all supporting documents. The incoming applications and supporting documents are treated with strict confidentiality as is our obligation under the banking secrecy law.

In addition, since the launching of our Dana Cepat Multiguna consumer loan product, we have extended credit to individuals of varying professions including civil servants.

As customer satisfaction is of great importance to us, your opinions and suggestions will serve as valuable input for us in further improving our services in the future.
