Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian mixed doubles pair, Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, are continuing to fine-tune their preparations ahead of their debut at the 2026 All England Open Badminton Championships at the Utilita Arena Birmingham on 3-8 March.

After undergoing their first training session at the National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, on Thursday, Amri said that the focus on the first day was more on recovering physical condition and adjusting to the rhythm of the game after a long journey.

“The first day of training was about recovering our condition, doing some light exercises and stretching. Then, we continued with some training sessions on the court,” said Amri in an official statement from PP PBSI.

Nita added that the training menu provided by the coach was quite varied to hone their touch and cohesiveness as a pair.

“Today, we were given a training menu that included games, short net play, long net play, a 3-1 game, and finally, drills,” said Nita.

For Amri/Nita, the 2026 All England is a special moment because it is the first time they will experience the atmosphere of the world’s oldest tournament.

Although they are debutants, both of them are trying to maintain focus and confidence.

“Our preparations have been good, everything has been prepared. Now, we just need to focus on the small details. We need to maintain our mindset, our hearts, and our mood. And continue to believe in ourselves,” said Nita.

Amri also enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to perform on the big stage.

“I am happy to be able to perform at the All England for the first time. Of course, we want to give our best. Now, we just need to refine our tactics and strategies for the match,” said Amri.

During the acclimatisation period, the pair is also scheduled to train with other teams such as England and the United States to test their technical and mental readiness before entering the actual match.

In their first match, they will face Marvin Seidel/Nguyen Thuc Phuong of Germany.
