AMREI Promotes Strengthening Risk Management Culture to Face Global Uncertainties
Chairman of the Indonesian Energy Risk Management Association (AMREI), Rifky Assamady, has stressed the importance of building a strong risk management culture within organisations and companies as a response to the increasingly complex and uncertain global dynamics.
This statement was delivered at the National Training event ‘Let’s Play Risk Culture Boardgame & MRPN Awareness’ in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026).
According to him, the event organised by AMREI aims to foster a sense of belonging towards the organisation while building a sense of crisis awareness among every company member.
“These two aspects form the primary and crucial foundation in facing the increasingly complex business environment dynamics and uncertainties, as well as in building resilient, adaptive, and sustainable organisations,” Rifky stated in his remarks.
He emphasised that the implementation of risk management is not a simple matter. More than just documents or administrative compliance, risk management is a way of thinking, acting, and a culture that must be embedded in daily routines.
“Risk management is not just documents, not just compliance, but rather a thought process, a way of acting, and a culture that must live in our daily lives,” he asserted.
Rifky also added that the implementation of risk management requires commitment, consistency, and collective awareness from all organisational elements. In this regard, every individual plays an important role in steering the company to stay on track towards achieving its goals.
“Our role is to ensure the company remains on course, by understanding the existing risks, managing them appropriately, and making them part of strategic decision-making,” he explained.
Furthermore, he reminded that the current global conditions, including geopolitical and environmental dynamics, have the potential to trigger various crises that impact businesses in Indonesia.
“This uncertainty demands that we take risk management more seriously, so that companies can survive and even become more resilient in facing various challenges,” he said.
In facing these conditions, Rifky emphasised the importance of determining effective work programme priorities.
“We need to be careful in selecting high-impact programmes that are still low-cost, thus providing optimal added value for the company,” he stated.
On the same occasion, he also highlighted AMREI’s strategic role as a strategic advisory partner that bridges cross-sector communication.
“AMREI not only acts as a connector but also as an ecosystem facilitator that encourages harmonisation across institutions,” Rifky revealed.
