Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman revealed that he had just dismissed one of his subordinates for violations. “We have just signed the dismissal. The date of dismissal is 7 May 2026. We have dismissed him, initials C. Now on the DPO (Daftar Pencarian Orang),” Amran told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday (19 May 2026).
“Hopefully in the near future he will be arrested and we can identify who else in the Ministry of Agriculture or outside the Ministry was involved,” he added.
Meanwhile, he said, he has also asked the Police to conduct a thorough investigation into mafia practices, which also claim to act in the name of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).
He disclosed previous cases involving ministry personnel. With schemes offering projects, asking for Rp27 billion, Rp300 million, and Rp150 million. The individuals claimed to be acting in the name of Kementan in their actions.
Meanwhile, he noted, President Prabowo Subianto has ordered the realisation of food self-sufficiency. Also, enforcement of law in the agricultural sector and to combat mafia.
Therefore, he said, when anyone is playing around, they will be dealt with firmly.
“There are 76 suspects. And perhaps this can be categorised as mafia. He acted in the name of the Ministry of Agriculture, asking for money. The person found was initialled H, who received Rp300 million. The giver initials were R, and it was promised projects in Agriculture (Kementan),” Amran disclosed.
“We call on the Police to investigate to the roots. If anyone is involved in Agriculture, I can assure I will dismiss them. There is no more time, no more room for advising or warning,” he asserted.
Amran stressed that every involved official will be dismissed.
“If found, I ask for a full investigation because this is a crime, this is mafia in my view. Because they act in the name of the Ministry and ask for money,” he said.
“If the law enforcement agencies find involvement from the Ministry (Kementan), I assure I will dismiss them,” he added.
At present, he continued, investigations are being deepened.
“This is under investigation. I ask those who gave and those who gave to be punished if possible, both,” he said.
On the other hand, Amran reminded all parties to be vigilant. Especially given the large budget held by Kementan at present.
“So that all those connected with agriculture should be wary of mafia roaming around everywhere,” he concluded.
“Agriculture now has a fairly large budget. If anyone claims to represent the Ministry, do not trust that the Ministry can set things up there,” Amran said.
