Amran Ensures Food Aid is Ready: All Documents Signed
JAKARTA — Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Andi Amran Sulaiman said all administrative processes for food aid have been completed at the ministry level. He stated that no documents were blocked and that all approvals have been signed.
“Already, already. I have signed,” Amran said after the Coordination Meeting on SPHP Daging Ayam Ras dan MinyaKita in Jakarta, on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
He also confirmed that no letters relating to the needs of the public were pending.
“All the people’s needs. They should not be left on my desk to sleep overnight; all the documents,” he asserted.
The government is preparing a stimulus package in the form of Food Aid for 35.04 million Beneficiary Families.
Deputy for Availability and Stabilisation of Food at Bapanas, I Gusti Ketut Astawa, explained that Food Aid forms part of the economic stimulus package to meet the needs for rice and cooking oil for Deciles 1-4. This group accounts for around 40 percent of the bottom-income population based on welfare levels.
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has prepared a budget of Rp 14.09 trillion for the programme. The budget was announced at the APBN Kita press conference on 26 February 2026.
The distribution of Food Aid is expected to help safeguard the purchasing power of the public and support the containment of food prices.
Recipient data are based on the National Social and Economic Single Data for Deciles 1-4 from the Ministry of Social Affairs. The data have been validated and verified in line with Presidential Instruction No. 4 of 2025 on the National Social and Economic Single Data.
Bapanas has tasked Perum BULOG to distribute rice and cooking oil to 35.04 million beneficiaries.
