The tight timeline set by the Saudi Arabian government for the 2027 Hajj season (1448 AH) necessitates early preparation. Delays could impact Indonesian pilgrims’ access to optimal services, including accommodation, transportation, and facilities in Mina and other holy sites.

Amphuri’s chairman, Firman M Nur, has urged the government to expedite the settlement of Special Hajj Travel Costs (BIPIH) for 2027, allowing Special Hajj Service Providers (PIHK) sufficient time to meet Saudi Arabia’s strict schedule.

“Our primary focus is serving pilgrims. The sooner the payment settlement is completed, the greater the chance for PIHK to secure top-tier services and provide certainty to pilgrims from the outset,” Firman stated on Monday (1 June).

According to Firman, the new Nusuk Masar platform requires all Hajj processes to adhere to a much tighter schedule than before. PIHK needs early confirmation to finalise service contracts, select hotels, prepare pilgrim manifests, and secure operational needs in Saudi Arabia.

Amphuri also proposes that Special Hajj payments should no longer depend on the regular Hajj settlement process. A more flexible scheme would enable PIHK to act swiftly to meet the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s timeline.

“Special Hajj payments should be processed earlier and not wait for the regular Hajj process. This is crucial for PIHK to secure service contracts and maintain high-quality service for pilgrims,” Firman added.

Beyond accelerating payments, Amphuri has called on the government to safeguard Indonesian Special Hajj pilgrims’ interests in dealings with Saudi service providers (syarikah). Particular attention is needed to ensure the availability of Mina tents and other Masyair facilities for Indonesian pilgrims.

Firman stressed that the success of the 2027 Special Hajj depends on all parties adhering to Saudi Arabia’s schedule. Early coordination between the government, associations, and PIHK is essential.

“We are confident that early preparation, strict adherence to Saudi timelines, and strong collaboration between the government, associations, and PIHK will ensure the 2027 Indonesian Special Hajj is more professional, competitive, and capable of delivering the best services to Indonesian pilgrims,” he said.

Amphuri also expressed gratitude to Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah, the Director of Overseas Hajj Services, the Head of Jeddah Hajj Office, and all relevant associations and stakeholders for maintaining open dialogue and evaluation to improve future Hajj management.
