Jakarta (ANTARA) - General Chairman of the Central Board of the Golkar Party Youth Wing (PP AMPG) Said Aldi Al Idrus has urged flood-affected residents in Aceh Tamiang, who have received assistance, no longer to live in evacuation tents for a more dignified life.

“We always pray for conditions to quickly recover and return to normal as before, but we urge the community that has received aid to seek more suitable accommodation, no longer to stay in tents,” Said stated in a written statement received by ANTARA in Jakarta on Sunday.

Said made this statement after distributing Eid packages from Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia to disaster-affected residents in Aceh Tamiang.

Said noted that the government has channelled various forms of aid to disaster-affected communities, including building temporary housing (huntara) and providing rental costs for houses before permanent housing (huntap) is completed, food aid money, furniture aid money, and home repairs.

He explained that the presence of PP AMPG in Aceh Tamiang is not merely a visit, but a tangible manifestation of service and commitment to helping disaster-affected communities, which has been consistent for more than three months.

“Insya Allah, PP AMPG remains committed to helping flood-affected residents. We will not abandon the community in the midst of difficult times post-disaster. Especially after the holy month of Ramadan, and now entering 7 Syawal 1447 Hijriah, the community must already plan to return to a more dignified and normal life as before the disaster,” he said.

Said revealed that during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, PP AMPG provided basic necessities and condolence allowances to flood and landslide victims in Aceh Tamiang. This aid was given to alleviate the burden on the affected community.

Furthermore, Said explained that some residents are still hesitant to leave their destroyed home locations because those places are family heirlooms and where they were born; others already feel comfortable living in evacuation tents because donors helping disaster victims will provide direct aid to the refugee tents.

“We are present in Aceh Tamiang to continue monitoring the progress of the post-disaster affected community because this is a direct instruction from Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia,” he stated.

Said also expressed appreciation for President Prabowo Subianto’s presence during Eid al-Fitr to directly see the conditions of the Aceh Tamiang community and ensure that residents no longer live in tents.

He described this as a form of the President’s care so that the community can live more comfortably and avoid disease threats.

“Mr Prabowo, even though he is in Jakarta, his heart and soul still think about the disaster victims in Sumatra,” Said said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Golkar Party DPD II Aceh Tamiang, Ariadi, stated that the presence of PP AMPG in his area has ignited a strong spirit of mutual cooperation.

“In the midst of the remnants of the disaster, the smiles and tears of gratitude from the Aceh Tamiang residents today have become an encouragement for us in the Golkar Party DPD Aceh Tamiang, and we hope that AMPG continues to serve the nation,” he said.

He also added that not a few residents from sub-districts, villages, and the community shed tears when receiving Eid aid from PP AMPG.

During Ramadan 1447 Hijriah, PP AMPG and the Golkar Party DPD II distributed 15,000 packages to congregations in 30 mosques across Aceh Tamiang.

“As Chairman of the Golkar Party Aceh Tamiang, I feel touched because there is still a party wing in this country that cares intensively from the beginning of the disaster until the recovery phase, and for more than three months has continuously carried out actions to clean places of worship, schools, tahfidz boarding schools, and we pray for the Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia along with the PP AMPG Chairman and the PP AMPG volunteer team to always be healthy in carrying out their mandate,” he said.
