AMPG Meets Malaysia's UMNO Youth, Discuss Global Conflicts to Humanitarian Cooperation

Jakarta, VIVA – Angkatan Muda Partai Golkar (AMPG) and Pemuda UMNO Malaysia are strengthening cross-border cooperation in social and humanitarian fields. The move comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East following attacks launched by the United States and Israel on Iran. The commitment to cooperation was taken during a global silaturahmi discussion held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. The meeting was attended by dozens of UMNO Youth officials and 37 AMPG PP officials.

Said Aldi, Chief of AMPG, said the meeting was not merely a ceremony, but a moment of consolidation in facing the impacts of global conflict. Aldi noted that ASEAN youth party members must build strong, solid relationships so that if future conflicts or issues arise and cannot be resolved by governments, the youths can act as a glue to resolve them. “This silaturahmi is not merely a ceremony, but a consolidation moment for Malaysian Youth and AMPG to prepare planning, should the war in the Middle East persist,” said Aldi. He hopes cross-border cooperation will strengthen organisational ties between the two countries. “With this cooperation, I hope it will strengthen the organisation of the two nations, which can educate the life of the nation and be useful for people in both countries,” he added.

Meanwhile, YB Akmal Saleh, Chairman of UMNO Youth Malaysia, said the meeting with AMPG was not the first of its kind. “Personally, I see genuine warmth and friendship between UMNO Youth and AMPG that we must strengthen,” he said. Akmal hopes cooperation between UMNO Youth and AMPG will continue. The UMNO Youth and AMPG plan to hold joint programmes in May, ranging from business matching to strengthening youth networking. “With today’s meeting, UMNO Youth and AMPG can further establish themselves as a party cadre laboratory and as a strategic platform for the younger generation in political contribution and national development,” Akmal concluded.
