AMNT Claims It Has Not Yet Applied for Extension of Concentrate Export Permit
PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara (AMNT) claims it has not yet applied for an extension of its concentrate export permit to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The reason is that AMNT is still focused on completing the construction of the smelter.
“Up to now, the company has not applied for an extension of the concentrate export permit,” said AMNT Vice President Corporate Communications, Kartika Octaviana, when contacted on Thursday (7/5/2026).
Kartika stated that AMNT remains committed to complying with government policies on mineral downstreaming following the end of the concentrate export permit at the end of April.
The company’s primary focus at present is to ensure that production increases proceed gradually, safely, and in accordance with regulations.
“We continue to evaluate and conduct strict operational oversight, accompanied by ongoing coordination with the central government,” Kartika emphasised.
It was previously reported that Asisten II of the NTB Regional Secretariat, Lalu Mohammad Faozal, stated that AMNT had again applied for a concentrate export permit to the Ministry of ESDM. This application was made after the 2025 concentrate export permit, which was only valid for six months, expired in April 2026.
According to Faozal, PT AMNT applied for an additional six months to export the raw material. This is because the Amman Mineral Industri (AMIN) smelter has not yet operated optimally.
According to Faozal, if PT AMNT does not conduct exports, this situation has the potential to impact NTB’s economic growth. The sector would not be able to contribute to the economic growth of Bumi Gora and risks causing contraction in the following quarter.
