AMMSI Supports MBG Operational Adjustments to Strengthen Budget Efficiency

The Indonesian Free Nutritious Meal Partners Association (AMMSI) has expressed its support for the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Head Circular Number 12 of 2026 concerning the Operational Adjustment of Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) during holiday periods in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme for the 2026 fiscal year. In a written statement released by AMMSI in Jakarta on Saturday, AMMSI Chairman Rizky Herdianto assessed that the MBG operational adjustment policy is a precise step to strengthen programme governance while increasing the efficiency of state budget utilisation. According to AMMSI, the operational adjustment during holiday periods will help ensure the MBG Programme is implemented effectively, measurably, transparently, and accountably. Beyond providing operational mechanism certainty for SPPGs, the policy is considered aligned with the principle of state spending efficiency. The operational arrangement during holidays is also deemed important to ensure programme facilities are used according to their designation and to prevent potential budget misuse. “We strongly reject the emergence of new kitchens outside the official mechanism, especially kitchens registered through illegal point trading processes despite the official registration portal having long been closed, being forced to operate, resulting in a kitchen surplus that causes state financial waste,” said AMMSI Chairman Rizky Herdianto. The association also considers such practices potentially leading to governance irregularities, causing state budget waste, and disrupting the effectiveness of the Free Nutritious Meal Programme, which is one of the national strategic programmes. It views this step as crucial to ensure programme implementation remains oriented towards community needs, not the interests of certain groups that could potentially harm state finances. As an organisation that accommodates MBG Programme implementing partners across various regions, AMMSI stated its commitment to continue overseeing the programme’s implementation to ensure it adheres to the principles of transparency, accountability, efficiency, and the broader public interest. “Budget efficiency must go hand in hand with strong oversight. There must be no room for illegal practices, including the existence of kitchens operating outside the official mechanism,” he said.
