Amirul Hajj Team of KH Hasyim Asy'ari Arrives, Ready to Conduct Hajj Diplomacy

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Amirul Hajj Indonesia team, comprising the KH Hasyim Asy’ari group, has arrived in Saudi Arabia to oversee this year’s pilgrimage and to carry Indonesia’s Hajj diplomacy mission to the Government of Saudi Arabia. The team led by Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj), Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, landed at Jeddah Airport on Monday afternoon at 17:40 local time. He explained that the Amirul Hajj Indonesia, which in Indonesian means ‘Misi Haji Indonesia’, is the country’s representation for engaging in diplomacy with the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as host of the Hajj. In addition to diplomacy, he said, the Amirul Hajj Indonesia team also performs functions of oversight of services and organisation of Hajj and monitoring the administration and execution of Hajj. ‘For any diplomatic issues or operational challenges related to transport, those are precisely the roles where diplomacy and corrective actions will be carried out to ensure the smooth running of Hajj,’ he said. Dahnil added that the Amirul Hajj Indonesia team will also coordinate to ensure the Hajj is conducted according to plan and will be a basis for evaluating Indonesia’s Hajj operations in the following year. Regarding the arrival of the second wave of the Amirul Hajj Indonesia team, he mentioned KH Ahmad Dahlan group led by Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mohammad Irfan Yusuf is scheduled to arrive at Jeddah Airport on Tuesday afternoon at 17:40 local time.
