Amien woos traders, drivers

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Candidate Amien Rais of the National Mandate
Party (PAN) campaigned on Saturday in Banda Aceh, capital of
Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, walking his well-worn campaign trail to
open markets and lunching with pedicab drivers.

He was accompanied by running mate Siswono Yudohusodo and
several members of his campaign team, including Reform Star Party
(PBR) chairman Zainuddin MZ, Social Democratic Labor Party (PBSD)
chairman Mochtar Pakpahan and Freedom Bull National Party (PNBK)
chairman Eros Djarot, whose parties have formed a coalition to
back his bid.

Security was on high alert during Amien's visit, although the
security status has been lowered to a state of civil emergency.
