Amien lands in rice field

KENDAL, Central Java: A helicopter transporting chairman of
the National Mandate Party (PAN) Amien Rais landed Sunday in
Kendal regency in a rice field before addressing a campaign at
the Sembongsari soccer field.

Thousands of supporters flowed into the streets of Weleri town
since dawn but businesses opened as usual.

Amien told supporters his party would continue to join forces
with other "pro reform forces" which had "a transparent agenda to
realize a new, just, peaceful and progressive Indonesia."

After 10 minutes the barnstorm continued to Jepara and
Surakarta. (har)
