Amidst Haji Isam Acquisition Rumours, 2.18 Million BBCA Shares Transferred
Amidst rumours regarding the acquisition of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) by businessman Andi Syamsudin Arsyad, popularly known as Haji Isam, large-scale negotiated transactions of BBCA shares were recorded in the market recently.
Based on trading data from Thursday (24/09/2026), there was a negotiated transaction in BBCA shares worth Rp485.9 billion for 778,000 lots at an average price of Rp6,242. Subsequently, on Friday (25/09/2026), another negotiated transaction occurred involving BBCA shares worth Rp111.1 billion, comprising 178,000 lots at an average price of Rp6,233.
Negotiated transactions continued on Monday (28/09/2026), with BBCA shares traded worth Rp710.4 billion for 1.1 million lots at an average price of Rp6,208 per share. Then, in today’s trading (29/08/2026) up to 11:30 WIB, another negotiated transaction of BBCA shares worth Rp77 billion for 124,000 lots at an average price of Rp6,168 per share was recorded.
In total, negotiated transactions amounting to Rp1.35 trillion were recorded, with a transaction volume of approximately 2.18 million lots of shares within the price range of Rp6,100 - 6,200 per share. However, it remains uncertain which parties were involved in these transactions or for what purpose.
Previously, rumours circulated widely on social media suggesting that Haji Isam, through his business network, was planning to acquire an ownership stake in BBCA, which has long been associated with the Hartono family’s Djarum Group. It is unclear where the source of this news originated. However, drawing from the BYAN acquisition incident, such takeover news often begins on social media and receives denials from involved parties before being officially confirmed via information disclosures on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
BBCA itself has asserted that the rumours regarding the planned acquisition of the bank’s shares are untrue.
“Responding to the rumours circulating on social media regarding plans for certain corporate actions towards BCA, we can state that THIS INFORMATION IS NOT TRUE,” said EVP of Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility, Hera F. Haryn, in a statement on Friday (25/09/2026).
She subsequently urged the public to access credible information through the company’s official website or reputable media outlets.
“We urge customers and the public to access information from official sources, both from the company’s official website and credible media outlets,” said Hera.
She added that BCA consistently operates based on the principles of prudence, integrity, and in accordance with applicable regulations.
