Unit-linked insurance products (PAYDI) are still showing a positive trend amid global uncertainties, including geopolitical factors. OJK’s Executive Head of Insurance, Guarantee, and Pension Fund Supervision, Ogi Prastomiyono, stated that this reflects the public’s sustained interest in investment-based products, particularly for long-term planning. He presented the latest data for February 2026, showing unit link premiums at Rp7.89 trillion, growing 5.17% year-on-year. According to Ogi, this indicates that PAYDI remains one of the important contributors to the life insurance industry with a significant share of total premiums. “Looking ahead, growth is expected to be more moderate and selective, focusing on product sustainability and suitability with customers’ risk profiles, so the unit link market share tends to remain stable with potential for gradual increases,” Ogi said in his statement on Thursday (9/4/2026). He conveyed that OJK continues to encourage strengthening the governance of unit link products through increased transparency of benefits and risks, strengthening marketing processes based on customer needs, and prudent investment management. In addition, OJK emphasises the principle of product suitability and consumer protection so that the growth achieved is not only in terms of volume but also quality.
