Amid Resignation Rumours, Jampidsus Claims Still Receiving Work Orders
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah has stated that he is still receiving work orders despite being buffeted by rumours that he will resign from the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung).
“As of now, just this morning I was still receiving orders to promptly complete the handling of case files within a short timeframe, limited to the detention period,” Febrie said at a press conference at the Jampidsus building of the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Friday.
He said he is currently focused on completing the handling of priority cases so that they can soon be brought to trial.
“Earlier, we broke down those orders to prioritise which cases are of public concern so that we can swiftly file and try them,” he said.
On social media, rumours have circulated widely that Febrie will resign from his post as Jampidsus of the Attorney General’s Office.
The news emerged after his name was linked to a suspected corruption and money laundering case currently under investigation by the National Police’s Corruption and Special Crimes Enforcement Corps (Kortastipidkor) and the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
Meanwhile, the Head of Kortastipidkor of the National Police, Commissioner General Totok Suharyanto, said the corruption case under investigation relates to alleged corruption in coal supply governance, which is suspected to have triggered power outages and is being handled by his unit.
In addition to that case, investigators are also handling suspected corruption at PT Asabri and PT Jiwasraya for the 2020-2025 period, as well as alleged money laundering related to the settlement of PT CBS’s debt to PT KNI, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Greater Jakarta Metropolitan Police.
