Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani has revealed the substantial interest in foreign investment into Indonesia. This stems from the results of working visits to several countries, including Singapore, China, South Korea, and Japan.

Rosan recounted that during these working visits, as well as when accompanying President Prabowo Subianto, frequent meetings were held with businesspeople, both large-scale and small.

“And from what we see, despite the current situation—wars, global geopolitics, and global geo-economics—their interest in investing in Indonesia remains very high, still very strong,” said Rosan, following a Limited Meeting at the State Palace on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

According to Rosan, this high interest is also reflected in the investment achievements that align with plans. Data presented shows that investment realisation in the first quarter of 2026 reached Rp498.79 trillion, an increase of 7.22% (year-on-year/yoy), with foreign capital investment reaching Rp249.94 trillion.

Rosan also noted that over the past 10 years, investment into Indonesia has seen significant growth. Recorded from 2014 to 2024, inflows totalled approximately Rp9,100 trillion. The government is targeting investment realisation for 2025-2029 to exceed Rp13 trillion.

“So the increase is indeed quite significant, but alhamdulillah, we have still been able to meet the targets, and we hope this can continue to be maintained. Now, among them, there are ongoing investments and new ones,” he said.

From the working visits to several countries, there are several new investment commitments.

“If I’m not mistaken, Japan is nearly US$30 billion, and South Korea was also over US$10 billion at that time. So alhamdulillah, it’s quite very good; China’s investments coming into us remain even higher. Their investments are well-maintained and very strong,” said Rosan.
