Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has assured that Indonesia’s economy remains stable amid global dynamics. The State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) deficit is maintained below 3% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Global dynamics triggered by the war in the Middle East are driving a surge in world oil prices. According to Purbaya, the APBN remains safe if the average oil price throughout the year is US$100 per barrel. “So the public does not need to worry about the deficit getting out of control and the budget going awry. We have calculated up to the end of the year,” said Purbaya during a press conference on Government Policies in Mitigating Risks & Anticipating Global Dynamics, Tuesday (31/3/2026). The government is also enforcing budget efficiencies, such as cuts to official travel budgets both domestically and abroad, implementing work from home (WFH) for central and regional civil servants every Friday. Official vehicle mobility is reduced by 50% and encouraging the use of public transportation.
