Amid Geopolitical Challenges, PIS Posts 2.4% Net Profit Increase
JAKARTA — PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) recorded operating revenue of USD 3,333.69 million in 2025. From this revenue, the company booked a profit of USD 572.48 million, up 2.49 per cent from the previous year.
“The net profit and revenue growth we achieved in 2025 is the result of a combination of fleet strengthening, business expansion, operational discipline, and cost efficiency that we have consistently implemented across all our business lines. This proves that PIS can continue to grow amid the dynamic geopolitical challenges facing the industry,” said Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Vega Pita, in a written statement on Monday (27/7/2026).
Vega said the positive performance throughout 2025 was achieved amid various challenges facing the global shipping industry. According to her, this achievement was the result of the company’s consistency in maintaining the operational reliability of its fleet and sustainable business management, in line with PIS’s commitment to supporting national energy distribution.
Vega noted that throughout 2025, PIS transported 107.69 billion litres of crude oil, refined products, fuel oil, and LPG, ensuring the reliability of energy supply across Indonesia. Throughout 2025, the company contributed Rp 4.87 trillion to the state through taxes and dividends to support Indonesia’s economic growth. Likewise, it provided support to other domestic industries, such as ship maintenance and the enhancement of the capabilities of Indonesia’s shipbuilding industry, including support for Indonesian seafarers.
In addition, Vega said PIS plays an important role in national energy distribution. This positive performance was underpinned by cost efficiency and the expansion of its business portfolio, including in non-captive business.
Growth was evident in the LNG transport business. The company carried out 11 LNG shipments, equivalent to 5.5 times the 2024 realisation. This reflects growing confidence among domestic LNG customers in PIS. Meanwhile, the expansion of the international gas and petrochemical cargo portfolio was carried out through the transport of Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) in 28 shipments.
