Amex launches new service

JAKARTA (JP): Leading credit card company American Express announced on Wednesday the launch of a new direct debit service for phone bills.

The service allows cardholders to directly charge their telephone and cell phone bills to their American Express Cards, the company said in a statement.

With the new service, phone bills will be immediately paid by American Express while cardholders only need to pay on the due date of the card bill.

The direct debit facility will be rolled out to cardholders in April and to activate this service they will need to authorize American Express to debit their card.

The facility will cover bills from PT Telkom, Excelcomindo, Satelindo and Telkomsel. (10)
