AMD Launches Ryzen AI 400 Series: Desktop and Laptop CPUs with NPUs Up to 60 TOPS

AMD has launched its latest line of desktop and laptop processors at Mobile World Congress Barcelona (MWC 2026) on Tuesday, 3 March 2026. The processors released are Ryzen AI 400 Series, AMD’s AI-based CPUs designed for workstation PCs, covering both desktop and laptop segments. One difference between the desktop and laptop variants is that the desktop AM5 version’s integrated graphics (iGPU) is capped at Radeon 860M, while the iGPU in the laptop’s top variant is Radeon 890M. The highest SKU for the AMD Ryzen 400 Desktop is Ryzen AI 7 450G, featuring an iGPU Radeon 840M. The Ryzen AI 7 450G/7 Pro 450G processors have 8 cores and 16 threads, with a maximum clock speed of 5.1 GHz and a base of 2.0 GHz. This CPU delivers AI performance of up to 50 TOPS (tera-operations per second), a total cache of 24 MB and a thermal design power (TDP) rating of 65 watts. This processor is paired with an iGPU Radeon 890M with 16 GPU cores. It has 12 cores and 24 threads, with a base clock of 2.0 GHz and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 475 has a total cache of 36 MB, and an AI chip (NPU) delivering up to 60 TOPS.
