Ambulance Driver Chases After Fortuner That Fled After Being Involved in an Accident in Bogor
An ambulance went viral on social media for chasing a Toyota Fortuner that allegedly tried to flee after being involved in an accident in Cileungsi, Bogor. The ambulance driver revealed the chronology of the incident.
“So, we were about to lift the victim onto the stretcher, but when we saw the Fortuner speeding away, we couldn’t lift the victim. We chased after the Fortuner,” said ambulance driver Fernando Sembiring when contacted by detikNews on Thursday (26/2/2026).
Fernando said he received information about the accident on Wednesday (25/2) at around 4:25 PM. Therefore, he immediately went to the location and intended to take the victim to the hospital.
The Fortuner driver then stopped and returned to the scene of the accident to meet the victim. “When stopped, the driver said her cellphone was missing, so she wanted to go home and call her husband. The driver was a woman, and eventually, she returned to the scene. We escorted the Fortuner with the ambulance,” said Fernando.
“At the scene, we lifted the victim into the ambulance and took him to RS Hermina Mekarsari. Not long after arriving at the hospital, the law enforcement officers arrived to investigate the scene,” he added.
Previously, a video showing an ambulance chasing a car that allegedly fled after being involved in an accident in Cileungsi, Bogor, went viral on social media. In the viral video seen by detikcom, a white Fortuner was seen driving on the road, being chased by an ambulance that kept sounding its siren.
“Ma’am, hey, stop for a moment, ma’am. Stop for a moment,” said someone in the viral video seen by detikcom.
The white Fortuner stopped after being chased by the ambulance. The car and its driver then returned to the scene of the accident and met the victim.
“The accident did happen; there were two vehicles involved in the accident, one car and one motorcycle. The Fortuner was damaged on the right side, and the motorcycle was damaged on the front,” said a member of the Traffic Accident Unit of the Mekarsari Cileungsi UPT, Aipda Jaja.
