Ambon rocked by earthquake

AMBON, Maluku: An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale shook Ambon yesterday, but there were no reports of casualties or structural damage, the Antara news agency reported.

Hendry Subakti, head of the city's Meteorology and Geophysics Agency, said the epicenter of the quake was about 137 kilometers northwest of Ambon.

Hendry said the quake lasted a few seconds. (emb)
