Ambassador Zuhairi Urges Youth to Use Pancasila as Inspiration for Building Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia, Zuhairi Misrawi, has invited Indonesian students in the country to adopt Pancasila as a source of inspiration for nation-building. During a discussion held to commemorate the Birth of Pancasila on Monday (1/6), Ambassador Zuhairi stated that Pancasila has proven to be the primary strength in unifying the nation, serving as a solution to various challenges and a fundamental key to national progress.
“As the foundation and philosophy of the state, Pancasila has been a unifying force for the nation. We are fortunate to possess Pancermila, which serves as a vital guide in building the country,” he stated in a written release from the Indonesian Embassy in Tunis on Tuesday.
He highlighted the principle of ‘gotong royong’ (mutual cooperation) as one of the core essences of Pancasila. “As long as the spirit of mutual cooperation remains alive, burning, and ignited within national and state life, we must remain optimistic. We still possess great opportunities to collectively build Indonesia across various sectors, including economy, education, culture, tourism, and politics,” said the Ambassador, who was born in Sumenep.
Ambassador Zuhairi Misrawi added that Pancasila was extracted from the thoughts and culture of the Indonesian archipelago. Therefore, in practical action, Pancasila must be utilised as the primary strength in developing Indonesia. “The strength of Pancasila lies in creative and innovative power through real action. The values of Pancasila have become cultural practices and tangible deeds. Therefore, it is time for the youth to make Pancasila a source of inspiration in building Indonesia,” he concluded.
The discussion, titled “Time for Youth to Embody and Ground Pancasila,” was organised by the Indonesian Students Association (PPI) Tunisia. The event was held in collaboration with PPI Tunisia, the Special Branch Leadership of Nahdlatul Ulama (PCINU) Tunisia, and the Special Branch Leadership of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) Tunisia.
