Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Italy, Junimart Girsang, has expressed full support for the presence of the Overseas Representative of the National Creative Economy Movement (DPLN Gekrafs) in Italy to develop Indonesia’s creative economy potential within the region.

“We support this fully,” said Junimart Girsang during the inauguration ceremony of the DPLN Gekrafs Italy, as stated in a written report received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

As the Chairman of the Advisory Board for DPLN Gekrafs Italy, this support serves as a vital component in encouraging collaboration between Gekrafs, the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, the Indonesian diaspora, and various stakeholders in Italy to develop Indonesia’s creative economy potential.

The Overseas Coordinator of the Gekrafs Central Executive Board, Osco Olfriady Letunggamu, stated that creative diplomacy can serve as a platform to bring Indonesia’s creative economy potential together with international networks.

According to him, the presence of the Indonesian diaspora in Italy also plays a crucial role in strengthening connectivity and providing access to information and networks for Indonesian creative economy actors.

“We must push creative diplomacy to become productive diplomacy,” he said.

His organisation can create opportunities for meetings between Indonesian creative economy actors and partners in Italy to build concrete cooperation.

Meanwhile, the General Chairman of the Gekrafs Central Executive Board, Kawendra Lukistian, hopes that the presence of DPLN Gekrafs Italy can strengthen Indonesia’s creative economy network while opening spaces for collaboration with various parties in Italy.

Indonesia possesses many talents, products, and creative works with the potential to expand in the international market. For this reason, DPLN Gekrafs Italy must act as a bridge connecting Indonesian creative economy actors with networks and partners in Italy.

He noted that with support from the Advisory Board, Gekrafs, the Indonesian Embassy in Rome, the Indonesian diaspora, and various stakeholders, DPLN Gekrafs Italy can effectively perform its role as a connector and driver of Indonesian creative economy collaboration in Italy.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of DPLN Gekrafs Italy, Iham Maulana, committed to fulfilling this mandate by building networks and opening collaborative spaces for Indonesian creative economy actors.

“We are striving to ensure that DPLN Gekrafs Italy can serve as much as possible as a link for Indonesian creative economy actors to understand the market, build relationships, and open opportunities for collaboration,” he said.

Previously, the Central Executive Board of the National Creative Economy Movement (Gekrafs) officially inaugurated the management of the Gekrafs Italy Overseas Representative at the Indonesian Embassy in Rome.
