Ambassador: Iran Seeks Only Victory Against US and Israel
Iran’s Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, has asserted that Tehran will not retreat in its confrontation against the United States and Israel. In remarks on Thursday 12 March, Jalali emphasised that Iran’s primary focus is achieving absolute victory.
“We are struggling to win and we demand nothing except victory. Trump and Netanyahu must know that,” Jalali stated firmly to the international news agency Rossiya Segodnya.
He declared that the United States must provide compensation for all damage caused by its attacks whilst simultaneously lifting sanctions against Iran.
Jalali also claimed that the political configuration in the Middle East is beginning to shift. According to him, Arab nations are now recognising that US military presence in the region can no longer guarantee their security.
Tensions reached their peak following the combined US-Israel military operation on 28 February. Although both countries initially justified the operation as intended to disable Iran’s nuclear programme, they subsequently openly stated that the military operation aimed to trigger regime change in Iran.
The operation resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on the first day of operations. Currently, the Islamic Republic of Iran is observing a 40-day national mourning period.
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned the military operation carried out by the US and Israel. Moscow is urging all parties to immediately pursue de-escalation and cease all forms of hostilities to prevent further widespread destruction in the region.
