Amanatul Ummah Pesantren, Under Kiai Asep Saifuddin Chalim, Ready to Host the 35th NU Muktamar

Amanatul Ummah Islamic boarding school, under K.H. Asep Saifuddin Chalim, has officially signed a letter of willingness to host the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama Muktamar, scheduled to be held from 1-5 August 2026. The letter, numbered 029/PPAU/V/1/2026 and dated 21 May 2026, is addressed to the Chair of the 35th NU Muktamar Committee in Jakarta. In the letter, the pesantren parties stated they are prepared to ensure the success of the muktamar if entrusted with hosting duties. In the letter signed directly by K.H. Asep Saifuddin Chalim, it is stated that the Amanatul Ummah pesantren complex in Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, East Java, possesses various supporting facilities deemed representative for hosting the largest Islamic organization’s major event in Indonesia. “With this, we hope to be given the opportunity to host the 35th NU Muktamar and we declare that we are willing and prepared to make the 35th NU Muktamar at the Amanatul Ummah Pesantren successful,” the letter quotes. K.H. Asep explained that Amanatul Ummah’s readiness is not only about location but also infrastructure and participant capacity. The main campus is said to include Abdul Chalim Grand Mosque, three-storey, a student centre with capacity for around 4,000 participants, a guest house, a three-storey clinic, and an extensive parking area. Additionally, other supporting facilities are available at the Amanatul Ummah MBI complex, MTs and MA Hikmatul Amanah, up to KH Abdul Chalim University. In total there are dozens of high-rise buildings, mosques, guest houses, university apartments, and an entrepreneurship building prepared to support the smooth running of the muktamar. At the end of the letter, K.H. Asep Saifuddin Chalim expressed hope that the request would attract the attention of the central committee.
