Amanah Foundation Launches Subsidised Food Programme for Aceh
Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Aneuk Muda Aceh Unggul Hebat (Amanah) Foundation, in collaboration with the Aceh Food Agency and the Aceh Regional Office of Perum Bulog, has introduced a subsidised cheap food movement to help meet the basic needs of the community.
“Through the cheap food movement, Amanah and the Food Agency are providing 600 basic necessity packages at prices lower than the market rate,” said the Chairman of the Amanah Foundation, Syaifullah Muhammad, in Aceh Besar on Saturday.
This cheap food movement is being held as part of the Gebyar Kreasi Amanah 2026 event series. Other activities included in the programme consist of healthy heart aerobics, an MSME bazaar, a BSI service corner, the Amanah melon harvest, blood donations, and more.
The low-cost market provides three tonnes of rice, 1,200 litres of cooking oil, 1.2 tonnes of sugar, and 600 trays of eggs. These quantities are distributed in 600 packages, each containing five kilograms of rice, two litres of cooking oil, two kilograms of sugar, and one tray of eggs.
The selling price for these basic necessities has been subsidised by Rp6,000 per kilogram, amounting to a total reduction of Rp66,000. Consequently, the community can obtain these packages for Rp158,000 per pack, compared to the normal price of Rp224,000.
“So, 600 packages are being distributed, redeemable at a very low price of approximately Rp158,000 per package,” said Syaifullah.
He explained that the provision of this low-cost market by Amanah, alongside the Aceh government and Perum Bulog, is intended to assist community needs and purchasing power, thereby contributing to inflation control.
“This cheap food movement also helps ensure food availability and access, while contributing to the control of regional inflation,” added Syaifullah.
For information, Amanah is a centre for creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship development for the younger generation in Aceh, initiated by the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) during the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON).
The facility, located in the Aceh Industrial Zone (KIA) in Ladong, Aceh Besar, serves as a collaborative hub to produce high-quality local products and strengthen the creative economy. The building was previously inaugurated by the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.
