AMAL Foundation Distributes 1,000 Ifthar Meal Packages to Residents of Camp Shabirin
BANDUNG — Amid the ongoing hardships faced by the people of Gaza, the spirit of sharing and compassion continues to serve as a beacon of hope. Through the Ifthar Gaza programme, 1,000 ifthar packages were distributed to residents of Camp Shabirin on 19–20 February.
The programme, initiated by the Amanah Kemanusiaan Global (AMAL) Foundation, represents a tangible expression of solidarity and support to help fellow communities in Gaza observe their breaking of fast with dignity and blessing.
Each ifthar package is designed to meet the breaking-of-fast needs of three people. Featuring a simple yet nutritious menu, each portion is intended to provide energy after a full day of fasting whilst fostering a sense of togetherness amid challenging circumstances. Each package is valued at approximately USD 9, which works out to roughly USD 3 per person, or approximately Rp 50,000 per person.
Camp Shabirin and Camp Sahatul Azhar were selected as distribution sites because these areas are home to many families affected by the protracted humanitarian crisis. For these residents, the ifthar meal is more than just food — it is a symbol that the outside world still remembers and prays for them.
AMAL also expressed its gratitude to the donors and parties who contributed to the successful implementation of the programme. The support and trust extended to the foundation serve as encouragement for AMAL to continue spreading benefit and goodwill.
