The Global Humanitarian Trust Foundation (AMAL), together with Geprek Sa’i and Hajj Chicken, has launched a humanitarian programme for the Palestinian people through the distribution of Adha Food, consisting of canned processed sacrificial meat, to residents in northern Gaza. The programme, carried out on 27 May 2026, delivered 500 cans of processed meat, each weighing 850 grammes. Distribution was centred at Camp Assudani in northern Gaza, one of the locations sheltering people affected by the humanitarian crisis. The choice of canned processed sacrificial meat was a response to conditions in Gaza, which continue to face various limitations. Prolonged power cuts and a lack of cold storage facilities present major challenges for distributing fresh sacrificial meat. By processing the meat and preserving it in cans, it can be stored longer, distributed more safely, and enjoyed by those in need without the risk of spoilage due to infrastructure constraints. Local residents also expressed their hope that the sacrificial meat could be consumed during the Eid al-Adha period, so the joy of the holiday can still be felt even amidst difficult circumstances. The Global Humanitarian Trust Foundation (AMAL) stressed that the Adha Food distribution is not solely aimed at helping to meet the community’s food needs, but is also an endeavour to bring happiness and the spirit of Eid al-Adha to refugees and families affected by the conflict. The programme was made possible thanks to the support and collaboration of various parties. AMAL expressed its appreciation to Geprek Sa’i and Hajj Chicken for their trust and contribution in helping to deliver benefits to the people of Gaza. This collaboration serves as evidence that care and the spirit of sharing can reach those in need, despite being separated by distance and national borders. AMAL hopes that synergies of goodwill such as this can continue and inspire more parties to take part in humanitarian actions for Palestine.
