AMA Aircraft Set Ablaze at Yahukimo Airport in Papua
An Associated Mission Aviation (AMA) aircraft with flight number PK-RCY was set on fire by unidentified individuals at Ipdeheik Airport in Balinggama, Sobaham, Yahukimo, Papua Pegunungan, on Thursday (2/7). The aircraft burning incident was confirmed by the Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the Cartenz-2026 Peace Operation, Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo. “The incident is true (the aircraft was burned),” he said when confirmed via text message. However, Yusuf has not yet disclosed further details regarding the chronology of the event, including information that the aircraft’s pilot, Captain Mark, was reportedly shot dead in the incident. “Regarding other matters (the shooting), it is still under investigation,” he concluded.
