Alumni Birmingham Push Collaboration Towards Golden Indonesia 2045

The University of Birmingham Indonesia Alumni Association (IA UoB) is encouraging cross-sector collaboration through the Global Alumni Gathering (GAG) 2026 to support development towards Golden Indonesia 2045. In a statement received in Jakarta on Monday, Chair of the IA UoB Advisory Board and Vice Minister of Finance Juda Agung said the alumni network must become a collaborative platform that brings together government, business, academia, and society to produce knowledge-based solutions. “The alumni network must not stop at being merely a space for social gatherings. The network must become a collaborative platform that brings together government, business, academia, and society,” Juda said. GAG 2026, held at the Ministry of Finance Building in Jakarta on Saturday (18/7), carried the theme “Creating an Inclusive Future Through Fiscal Innovation, Digital Economy, Quality Education, and Sustainable Development” and featured a main session bringing together policymakers, academics, business players, development partners, international alumni communities, and the younger generation. IA UoB Chairperson Redita Aliyah said the forum serves as a space to strengthen networks and gather alumni contributions to provide solutions for various development challenges. The event was also attended by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Deputy Minister of National Development Planning/Vice Head of Bappenas Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, and Indonesian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Desra Percaya.
