Alternative Routes to Avoid Three Protest Sites in Jakarta
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Several alternative routes have been prepared to avoid traffic congestion due to three demonstration actions held in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026).
Head of Public Relations Section of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Resort, First Inspector Erlyn Sumantri, stated that the protest actions are taking place at three different points from morning until afternoon.
The first action is being held in front of the Bank BRI Head Office, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, starting at 09.00 WIB by the Indonesian Law Students Union.
“There is a protest from the Indonesian Law Students Union,” said Erlyn in his statement on Friday.
At the same time, the third action is being held in front of the DPR/MPR Building, Senayan, by the Indonesian Youth Initiative Movement.
A total of 453 combined police personnel have been deployed to secure the course of the actions.
Traffic engineering will be implemented situationally according to field conditions.
Erlyn urged the public to avoid the areas around the demonstration sites to anticipate congestion.
“Residents can look for other alternative routes during the protest,” he said.
Other alternatives include going through Jalan HR Rasuna Said, then to Jalan Prof. Dr. Satrio, Jalan Casablanca, to Jalan Diponegoro towards Menteng.
For drivers heading from north to south, it is advisable not to cross Sudirman directly.
Drivers can loop through Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jalan Wahid Hasyim, to Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, or through Jalan Tomang Raya, Jalan S. Parman, to Jalan Gatot Subroto.
