Alphard with Suspected Fake Plates Intimidates Security Guard at Bundaran HI, Police Mediate
A video went viral showing a Toyota Alphard running a red light at a pelican crossing near the Bundaran HI bus stop on Jalan M Thamrin, Central Jakarta. The driver’s actions were deemed to endanger pedestrians crossing at the zebra crossing, leading to a reprimand from a security guard at the location. However, the viral video narrated that several individuals from the black Alphard, bearing registration number D 1828 XHQ, allegedly intimidated the security guard who had admonished them.
Upon investigation, Menteng Metro Police Chief AKBP Braiel Arnold Rondonuwu stated that the matter had been mediated at the local police post. The parties from the Alphard and the security guard met at the post to resolve the issue, and both sides agreed to reconcile and shake hands.
Separately, the Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-directorate of the Jakarta Metro Police revealed that the Alphard is suspected of using a fake licence plate. AKBP Ojo Ruslani, head of the sub-directorate, said his unit would summon the driver of the Alphard, as well as the security guard, for questioning. He stated that the investigation would cover the entire incident, including the alleged use of fraudulent plates, to determine potential charges.
