Alphard Driver Damages Online Taxi Rider's Motorcycle in South Jakarta After Alleged Sideswipe

The destruction carried out by an Alphard driver against a motorcycle belonging to a man believed to be an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver has gone viral on social media. The police have stepped in to conduct an investigation.

From the circulating video, the ojol rider and the Alphard driver can be seen on the road shoulder. The Alphard driver, wearing a red shirt, appears to be damaging the ojol’s motorcycle by striking it with a rock.

The ojol rider simply stood by helplessly as his motorcycle was destroyed. The front section of the motorcycle appeared to be damaged.

Pesanggrahan Police Chief Commissioner Seala Syah Alam said the incident occurred this morning. Police have examined witnesses, including the ojol driver.

“No report has been filed yet, but we are still following up. The motorcyclist has been examined, all of them, and we have checked the crime scene,” said Seala when contacted on Tuesday (18/8/2026).

Based on preliminary examination, the destruction occurred because the Alphard driver was upset that his car had been sideswiped. The police are still conducting a series of further investigations.

“Please give us time, we are still looking into it. It is a company car, the car is registered under a company name and we are still investigating. The car was sideswiped and its wing mirror was hit. The car owner was upset, and the motorcycle was damaged using a rock and so on,” he said.
