Allianz Life Critical Illness Claims Reach Rp600 Billion Throughout 2025
Allianz Life pays out Rp600 billion in critical-illness protection claims in 2025. The figure rose by Rp40 billion from the previous year, which stood at Rp560 billion.
‘We recorded total critical-illness claims for 2025 of Rp600 billion, involving 2,600 cases in a year,’ said Rina Triana, Head of Product Marketing & Development Allianz Life Syariah Indonesia, at a press conference launching AlliSya CL Hasanah in South Jakarta on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
The number of critical-illness claims at Allianz in 2025 was lower than in 2024, which logged 2,800 cases. However, the number remains high.
‘What is surprising is that of the 2,600 cases, 67% involved three critical illnesses: heart disease, cancer and stroke. Another surprise is that around 40% of the total cases occurred in people under 45,’ she said.
Rina added that this shows many cases of critical illnesses among Indonesians. Young people are not exempt from these illnesses. Heart disease, cancer and stroke apparently no longer wait for old age.
‘Moreover, if you look at various sources, it is indeed true that the costs of treatment for critical illnesses are expensive. For the three main diseases, costs can reach hundreds of millions of rupiah. Cancer can cost Rp 300 million for chemotherapy, heart attack Rp 500 million. Therefore, planning for critical-illness insurance is truly important,’ she said.
