Allianz changes image

JAKARTA (JP): Global German-based insurance group Allianz has introduced a new logo as part of its efforts to change its corporate image.

A statement released on Monday said the new logo was created earlier this year and the company has been promoting it since early March.

The company said it dropped the old eagle logo because it was too closely associated with its German links and also considered old-fashioned and unwilling to change.

The new logo is still reminiscent of an eagle, but it signifies "flexibility, dynamism and innovation", according to the press release.

It also signifies the big changes in the company's customer base over the past several years. These days it receives 60 percent of its premium income from non-German policy holders, compared to 20 percent 12 years ago. (jsk)
