PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk has taken tactical measures to anticipate potential severe congestion at the KM 66 junction during the 2026 Eid season. The Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) II South toll road will be opened for functional operations, specifically to serve the return traffic flow from Bandung towards Jakarta.

Jasa Marga Chief Executive Officer Rivan A. Purwantono explained that this functional route would be prepared from 15 March 2026, with the primary focus on dispersing vehicle density coming from the Bandung direction to prevent accumulation on the main route towards Jakarta.

According to Rivan, KM 66 is a critical junction as it is the meeting point of traffic flows from the Trans-Java toll and traffic from the Cikampek-Purwakarta-Padalarang (Cipularang) toll. With the opening of Japek II South, the vehicle load at this junction is expected to decrease significantly.

“Because this will disperse traffic to prevent congestion at kilometre 66, the public will be asked to choose, or even required, to use the Japek II South toll. All vehicles, especially those heading to Cimanggis, Bogor, and Bekasi, can directly use this functional toll route,” said Rivan during a media briefing in Jatiasih on Tuesday, 10 March.

Meanwhile, the West Java Police Regional Command has confirmed the readiness of field infrastructure. The Traffic Director of the West Java Police Regional Command, Senior Police Commissioner Raydian Kokrosono, stated that joint inspections with the National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) have been conducted to ensure the safety of the route.

In addition to Japek II South, police have also prepared functional operation scenarios for the Bocimi toll section 3, spanning 6 kilometres, connecting Parungkuda to Karangtengah.

The opening of these functional routes will be situational in nature. The police will decide on route operations based on real-time traffic counting and vehicle volume calculations in the field.

This preparation is part of the optimisation of the 2026 Ketupat Operation to ensure smooth traffic flow for the general public traveling through West Java towards the capital during the Eid period.
