The Purworejo Police have resolved an alleged violation case involving a debt collector in Purworejo, Central Java, through mediation. Head of the Purworejo Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Dwiyono, explained the case began when RW (29) approached the Bayan Police Sector seeking assistance due to suspicions that his wife, UH (25), was with another man. Police then accompanied RW to a boarding house in Bayan District, where they found UH with LSH (26), who was later identified as an online loan debt collector. Police examination confirmed there was no criminal element to the incident, but rather it was purely a matter of debt related to an online loan application. Police stated the husband arrived at the location just minutes after UH and LSH entered the room, confirming no further actions had taken place. The husband did not file a report, and both parties requested facilitated mediation. They agreed to resolve the matter amicably without filing a report, evidenced by a written agreement. The debt collector also agreed not to pursue further collection efforts against the individual. Head of Marketing at Kredivo, Indina Andamari, stressed that while the legal process has concluded, the company’s internal investigation is ongoing. She clarified that although the individual involved was a user of the Kredivo application, the cash loan facility in question was actually a KrediFazz product marketed through the Kredivo app. KrediFazz Managing Director Anita Wijanto stated the company is currently evaluating its partnership with the relevant collection agency to strengthen future policies and oversight. The reported agent has been deactivated. On Thursday (23/7), the management of Kredivo and KrediFazz also complied with a summons from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to present the full chronology and future supervisory strengthening measures.
